Voice to Relay

A person who is deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, or speech-disabled uses a TTY to type his/her conversation to the relay operator who then reads the typed conversation to a hearing person. The relay operator relays the hearing person's spoken words by typing them back to the TTY user.

Dial 711 or 877-826-6607

TTY user dial the TTY number, 711 or 877-826-6607. A Relay Texas Communications Assistant will answer.

Type in the area code and telephone number you wish to call and type “GA” (Go Ahead.) The Communication Assistant (CA) dials the number and connects to the other party.

How Does Voice to Relay Work?

Voice to Relay allows people without hearing or speech difficulties to communicate easily with someone using a relay service. The caller speaks directly to the relay operator, who then types the message to the other party. Responses are read back to the caller, creating a smooth, natural conversation.
