Video Relay
Video Relay Service (VRS) allows people who use sign language, including you, to communicate by phone with someone who uses voice by connecting through a video interpreter using a videophone or computer webcam.

How Does Video Relay Work?
Video Relay Service (VRS) allows a more natural telephone communication between sign language users and voice telephone users. This service is easily accessible from home, office, or when traveling. Communication flows through a qualified video interpreter via a stand-alone videophone, or a desktop or laptop computer with a webcam and appropriate free software. This service requires high-speed internet service such as DSL, cable modem, or a mobile broadband card.

FAQs
We want to simplify your life. In the following you see answers to some questions that might arise.
VRS allows people who use sign language, including you, to make phone calls through a video interpreter. You sign your message to the interpreter, who voices it to the hearing person, and then signs their response back to you.
People who use VRS need a videophone or a computer with a webcam, and you must have a high-speed internet connection such as DSL, cable, or mobile broadband.
VRS users register with a VRS provider to receive a 10-digit phone number. You sign up with the provider of your choice, get your number, and then you can place and receive VRS calls.
People can use VRS at home, at work, or while traveling—as long as there is a high-speed internet connection. You can make VRS calls anywhere you have the equipment and internet access.
